This is the best I could do for "sketching" this time (above). Spent hours cleaning up the next two photos. Put in a generic acrylic/paper towel smeared background that would not be as distracting. Love this image. It makes me wish I were a photojournalist. But then, this kind of photography isn't what big news organizations seem to want anymore anyway.
These protests are just the beginning so it seems appropriate to keep a journal just for these events.
Well before 2008 I knew that this economic situation was destined to happen and that there would be a revolt. I just didn't know when the breaking point would be. Unfortunately, little fish sometimes get lured in by Big Fish because they think that God or Good Fortune open doors to their washes leaving personal responsibility outside that door. The Big Fish know this and make a meal out of them. Others are purely ambushed. So I am proud to see that there really is a sense of democracy still alive under all the materialistic distractions that we Americans enjoy and/or are bombarded with daily. This is a WORLD WIDE endeavor now.
This next sign is wonderfully done. As we know, however, not all the buzzard are old.
Good to see a retired judge (below) getting involved.
I read a news article that said that a thousand people participated in this rally. There were at least that many from what I was seeing. The park was getting quite crowded by 1 p.m. and people were still arriving.
This event will surely make some good entries in my journal.

This Government stuff also applies to businesses. At one time companies hired people to take care of the business, and the employees were nurtured, trained and treated like people. In the sixties, seventies and eighties companies treated their employees like family and fostered loyalty. In the 1990's and into the 21st century, companies have gradually turned to the almighty buck. Layoff are rampant, lots of work is going off-shore (even much of the office and specialty work). The people that do not get laid off are subjected to hugh pressures as they now need to work across multiple time zones with these offshore workers. Most staff are now getting hired on short-term contracts by project. Training is almost zero and in this competitive job market people have to go out and pay for their own training.
The strange thing is, the quality has not improved and the cost savings gained from the layoff have been in many cases plowed back in to make more profits for the company. Like using the saved cash to buy up other related businesses to make theirs even bigger. All for the almighty buck.
I could ramble on. Canada is quieter but not necessarily any better.
The Government had rammed through the HST bill (harmonized Sales Tax). It was so sneeky here in BC that people did not get to stop it. There was an uprising in BC and the people of BC voted it out. Now the Government has to work to put things back the way they were. The Federal Government is now expecting BC (the people of the Province) to pay back any fronted money for the HST conversion, but the money has already been spent. We will see where this goes.
One of your signs says 3 branches of government - Financial, Pharmaceutical, Petrochemical - well although those are true drivers what about their infrastructure Military. Isn't the large Military machine there to drive the other three?
